Vapour transport in Fastflo

In this section, numerical methods using the finite element package Fastflo for solving the basic equations of vapour transport (ch. 2) are presented, including transpiration, the transport of enthalpy by interdiffusion, and buoyancy forces due to temperature and vapour mass fraction differences. The penalty method fails for this problem, so an alternative algorithm is described. A simple modification of the automatic square mesh generator provided with Fastflo, unit.c, creates a mesh of smoothly varying fineness. The results of a single simulation are presented in some detail to illustrate the variety of postprocessing procedures possible with Fastflo5.2.2).
